Levi Ski Resort

During the winter months (usually from mid November to mid May) the fell in Levi Finland is used as a ski resort. With a total 44 runs serviced by 28 lifts, it is one of Finland's largest snowboard and ski resorts.

The location of Levi Lapland, within the Arctic Circle, guarantees a good amount of powder that can be enjoyed throughout the very long season. The location also means that the temperature is very low, sometimes down to -40°C and the daylight hours are short. It is important to be aware that the extreme temperatures require adequate thermal layering and facial cover to protect yourself whilst outside.

Fortunately Levi Ski Resort is well set up to cater for it's guests regardless of the extremes it faces. There are open fires in teepees at the bottom of many of the ski slopes. These give skiers and snowboarders the opportunity to warm up free of charge. Fire Marshals patrol the fell to make sure that these are well maintained. There are also various cafés, strategically placed around the Levi Finland resort for any hot drinks or snacks that may be required.

An excellent level of floodlighting is present across the Levi ski resort, allowing for the slopes to stay open well past sun down. The lifts are open from 10am until around 6pm, with the front slope often open later until about 8pm.

There is a ski bus that runs all the way around the fell at Levi Finland on a regular basis. This stops at the bottom of all of the main runs, so can be used as a good way to explore the area.
