Yllas

Yllas is a neighbouring resort of Levi, many people are often torn between the two resorts. Much of the climate information, key facts and northern lights pages are relevant to both Levi and Yllas. Yllas Ski and Snowboard Resort

Yllas is one of Lapland's best ski resorts and is home to the largest network of floodlit cross country ski trails in Finland. There are 61 downhill ski runs on the fell, serviced by a total of 29 lifts. The ski resort mainly caters for beginner to intermediate skiers and snowboarders with 15% green runs, 42% blue runs, 38% red runs and 5% black runs. Yllas is also a good option for those who enjoy snowmobiling as it has access to 300km of snowmobile tracks and plenty of hire shops and organised tours.

Summer in Yllas

During the spring, summer and autumn months Yllas is a great place for both relaxing and activity filled holidays for the whole family. The most popular activities here in summer are mountain biking, hiking, fishing and canoeing.

Location of Yllas in Lapland

Located within Scandinavia, the ski resort of Yllas can be found in Finnish Lapland.

The accommodation and amenities for Yllas ski resort are split across the two villages of Yllasjarvi and Akaslompolo. A regular bus will take you the 15km between the two villages at a cost of around 5 Euros

Driving directions to Yllas from Kittilä airport

Exit the airport and follow the signs for road number 79(Levintie). Turn right onto 79 heading south, after almost 3km turn right onto road number 80. Route 80 will take you the 30km to Yllasjarvi, from here route 9401 will take you around the fell to Akaslompolo. The nearest train station to Yllas is in Kolari about 30 minutes southwest from Yllasjarvi on road 80.

Yllasjarvi Finland 		The Yllas Loma cabins are a great self catering option in a spectacular location. The nearby Hotel Ylläs Rinne offers the use of its facilities to those staying in the cabins. These facilities include a bar, lounge, restaurant, sauna, hot tub and ski lockers. The nearest lift is around 2.5 kms away and are easily accessible on the regular ski bus that picks up a few meters from the Loma cabins.
